Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Sorry for the delay in posts, my bad! Its been a busy few months, hard to believe its October already!! It doesn't help that I haven't seen the leaves on the trees turning colors, I haven't stopped wearing flip-flops, sandals and dresses, and well 90 degrees does not feel like Fall!! By no means am I complaining but simply expressing how far behind I am, to me it's still July ;-)

I have SO much to say now that I haven't posted in a month or two that I don't know what to say... lol.

Cariann's life UPDATE: I am officially coming home December 6th for Graduation and Christmas/New Years! I want to see EVERYONE because my next steps are that I will then be flying back to Las Vegas on January 18th to complete my internship experience with Central Christian Church until August 2012!!

That being said, after graduation I will be working at an unpaid internship... you do the math.

As some of you may know the economy is HORRIBLE! For those in Michigan, you know the hurt from the loss of jobs, in and around factories. For those from Las Vegas, you feel pain through the crash of the housing market and credit card crisis. There are definitely overlaps of issues in each state but these are the major issues for that state, regardless both are feeling the agony of a recession/depression that our country is facing. As an almost graduated college student, with about $60,000 in tuition debt, its SO easy for me to feel overwhelmed and anxious about the future, loans knocking on the door and bills piling to the sky. I have the "I cant breath, future fear is choking me!" anxiety start to build up more often than I would like to admit but through the promises of God's goodness, faithfulness and love- I CAN defeat that anxiety, fear and continue on to face the present moment God has me in with His peace.

Matthew 7:9-11 (NLT)
9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Stop asking "Why me?" when life has you in a pit but starting asking "Who do I believe God to be?"!! Understand that our God is a GOOD God and is very much in the business of  providing for His children! During the overwhelming-anxiety riddled- future fear choking moments, true faith is when you can take the risks God asks of you and face the fears using your SHIELD of FAITH! Ephesians 6:10-20

Matthew 6:19-20 (NASB)
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.

The cares of this world are TEMPORARY! You cannot put your hope in another person, the latest fashion, a car, or a house. You cannot rest on having a job here to be future financial security. I would like to think the recession is enough to prove my point on that...  But people who have lost all of those things are now pouring sweat and tears into getting them back, does that make sense? Those things of this world obviously didn't last or work before! Why not try pouring sweat and tears into your relationship with God? Spend your energy and time on some ONE who promises that He will take care of you! If you have lost it all already due to the hard times of this life, what do you have to lose if you trust in God to keep His promises?

As an unpaid intern, I will be working 20-30 hours a week, making NO money BUT storing up treasures in Heaven. <3

Luke 12:34 (NASB)
34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

"Where the mind goes, the man follows" says Joyce Meyer- If your mind is focused on earthly treasures, money and pleasures- NOT of God's goodness, faithfulness, His LOVE and His will for your life... where will you go?

Final thought,

Matthew 13:44-45 (NIV)
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.

What are you giving up to store Treasures in Heaven?! A job? Earthly comforts?

I am giving up having a job to store Treasures in Heaven until God provides me with a job on Earth. God knows I have student loan debt, He knows how much and when the bills are due!

Trust in God, "The size of your God determines the size of your trust."- Jud Wilhite

Hope this was encouraging to wherever you are in life!

In Him and with LOVE,
Cariann
